We got a good offer on the house! It will be submitted tomorrow after Kelly signs and faxes them back! I am really excited for the new family that could be living here, they are great people!

I have 1 week left to get packed and ready to move. The family will be here late friday night and we will load up Saturday and leave Idaho on either late Saturday or early Sunday morning!I am looking forward to a fresh start but I am scared and sad to!!

Augie is super excited about going to school where I went to school and living with Poppy and Grammy! Should be fun for all of us! Atleast until we all start getting on each others nerves, lol!

New Year...New Me!

This is going to be a year of many changes! I am so happy to see 2009 go, it had some major heartbreak involved and it's time to start a new chapter of my life!
My daughter and I are moving back to CA to be close to family and so she can grow up with her cousins and spend time with her grandparents. I am looking forward to this in many ways! I have a new job to start and I am so looking forward to that and the many doors it will open.

2010 is about personal growth for me and time with my beautiful girl! She is going to get to do so many things she has wanted to do and I am so excited for her!

My little man tried to play with a tractor yesterday and lost. He had to much damage to be saved and had to go to puppy dog heaven. I am so sad and will miss him terribly! I love you Buddy!!!!

Kelly has been on a puppy kick for a couple days and I told him this morning that I want to wait until he is home for good before we get another animal. But things tend to happen for a reason and it just so happens that the adoption fell thru on this little girl and she was meant to be ours. She is a 10 week old Australian Shephard/Australian Cattledog mix. My favortite kind!!!! I pick her up in the morning. I am so excited!!!!!

It has been a crazy few months and I am glad to say things are getting better. I have been so bad about staying up on everything but I am hoping to get back into the swing of things.

We went to CA for springbreak and had a quick but nice visit. It never lasts long enough but it's wonderful to get back home. My dog had to be put down when we got home and I brought him home to bury him in our yard. That was one of the tuffiest things I have ever had to do. I miss him terribly! Kelly was home for 21 days but with our nephews graduation down in southern CA we didn't really get all that much time with him and that is a whole other story. Both Augie and I have had bronchitis. A friend of ours little boy was in the hospital with pneumonia so I helped her out with her other 2 boys. My laptop had to go in for repairs and I just got it back today! Woohoo!!!!

On a good note Kelly is coming home from Iraq for good. Granted he will be working and living in Casper, Wyoming but it's only 10 hours away and not 8000 miles away.We are really excited to be able to see him more and have more family time!

New Inspiration

I have been searching for a color for the longest time for the Scraproom/Office and finally found what I wanted. It is called "Ironhorse". It looks even better on the wall than the swatch. It has a blue, a lavender, a grey depending on how the light catches it....I couldn't ask for better. I wish I would have painted the Master Bedroom this color! LOL!!!!! Are we ever satisfied?

I had seen an ornament awhile back before I found out who I had for an ornament exchange at Scrapfreak. Then when I went to go get it I could never find it. So i was blog hopping one day and i came across these fabulous ornaments on Leslie Ashe's blog. She is so talented and I often find inspiration from her. So she had these adorable ornaments done with buttons and I realized that would be so super neat. I made 2; 1 for my freaky friend and one for Augie's bus driver cause she is such a fabulous person and friend. I can't wait to do more of these, I have so many ideas rolling around in my head. Thank you Miss Leslie Ashe!!!!!!

Every year the school does a program and invites in all the local veterans and the kids sing to them and tell them Thank you! Augie looked so pretty, she wanted to be dressed really nice this year and wore a red dress. She looked so beautiful!

I have been working on an album for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. We all went to Australia in 2004 for my Mom to meet her penpal she has had since the 5th grade. It was the chance and trip of a lifetime and I wanted my Mom and Dad to have something to remind them and remember. I am using an Scrapworks Anthologie album which I absolutely loved working with. My 2 little pygmi goats have wreaked havoic on my yard. I have fixed fence and tried all kinds of things but can't seem to keep them in the pasture. They have tore up my landscaping, eaten up as far as they can reach on my pine trees and now they have killed my maple tree and a few of my Quaken Aspens to. :( So my goal this winter is to find a way to keep those little stinkers in and get my yard looking better. While Kelly was home he pulled out the trees for me. My poor front yard looks so naked now.:(

Here are some sights from our trip to Virginia City. Kelly took me here on our first out of town trip after we started dating so it has always been a special little place for us. I could spend days there and never get enough!

We went thru all the little stores that were open, had an old time photo taken, and had a soda and some popcorn at the Bucket of Blood Saloon and then got on the road around 2 p.m. to head home to Idaho. We had another wonderful day!

Tenaya Lake

We left Mariposa on Monday August 25th and went back thru Yosemite. We took our time and enjoyed the day. We got to see a bear in the wild, it was so awesome. We stopped at Tenaya Lake for a picnic and then headed up 395 thru some fun little towns. We stopped in Gardnerville and went thru some antique stores. We decided to stay the night in Carson City so we could go to Virginia City the next day before heading home. We were having such a fantastic time.

Augie fell asleep while we were going thru the park. She looked so dang cute. We were going in and out of of the sun/shade.

A Trip to the Bay Area

On Sunday we met my In-laws and family in Merced and headed to the Bay Area to visit Kelly's Uncle who has stage 4 cancer. We had a bbq and just got to hang out and chat with the family. We had a really good time. His Uncle is doing really well, he was eating and has such a positive outlook, it was great. He had a appointment on Monday to go over the CT scan they had done of his chest and neck. We got the call on Monday afternoon that the chemo is shrinking the lymph nodes where the cancer is,
this was such fabulous news!

My Family's house

We left Mariposa on Friday mid-day and headed down to my parents. We got there around 2 p.m. and got to just relax and hang out. We had Chinese food for dinner and being the revolving door that my parents house is we had lot of people stop by to see us. Saturday the guys went on a long harley ride as a tribute to "Roy Stone" who passed away on June 22nd. He was Kelly's best-friend.They got back around 4:30 pm to a surprise 60th Birthday party for my Dad. Heehee He was so surprised!

After being away 4 months and not drinking any alcohol Kelly has become a light weight, he is a cheap drunk now, lol!

On Friday, July 25th a fire broke out in Mariposa. On Saturday my In-laws called and they were being evacuated as well as mu Brother and Sister-in-law. It was a stressful 4 days til we found out that their houses were still standing. Luckily the fire only came with in 1000ft of their properties. About 27 other families weren't so luckly though. Thank God and Thank you to all the Firfighters who worked so hard.

We got up early Wednesday morning and started our trip to CA at 6:30 am. We met my Kelly's dad and brother and a couple friends in Boomtown and then hit 395 and headed thru Yosemite to Mariposa and arrived at 9:30 pm. It was a long trip.

It has only been 4 months but it sure seemed like a long time, yet the time went by fast to. We picked him up at the airport after a 2 hour delay, went to lunch, ran to the store and headed home. We had a few friends over for a bonfire and had such a good time. It was so nice to have him home. We spent the weekend hanging out and just enjoying family time, I was so wonderful!

Kelly has wanted a Donkey pretty much since we bought property. I tought I would be able to hold him off since he is 8000 miles away, but Nooooo! He has watching our local Craigs List daily and he came across a deal we could't pass up. We ended up getting 2 donkey's, lol. He is so excited to see them.

Augie and I went out today and fed them carrots, played with them and even brushed them a little. They need to put on some weight but they are broke and very friendly. We are having so much fun with them.

I was 25 and getting out of a bad relationship. I don't really want to relive it but if it hadn't been for that I wouldn't have the wonderful husband and daughter I have now. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I grew up and lived in Sanger, CA until 2004 when we moved to Nampa ID. We lived in Nampa ID for 6 months then purchased our first house in Marsing, ID where we have been since.

A busy week

We had Poppy and Grammy here all week. We did lots of yardwork,Some shopping and errands and Poppy fixed the riding lawn mower for me and did a few honey-do's since Kelly is not here to do them. We played outside a lot and Augie played in the sprinkler in the back yard. There was so much more we wanted to do but the time always goes by so fast. The next time we see them will be in August and that means Kelly will be home for 15 days for his first R&R, I can't wait!

We left on Sunday June 22nd and drove to Reno where we dropped Buddy off at Tracy's house and visited for a bit. Then we headed on to Tahoe, NV to meet Grandpa and Grandma. We spent a couple days playing around, i wish we would have arranged for more time but we still had a great time. On Tuesday June 24th I headed back to Reno and Augie went home with Grandpa and Grandma for 8 days. I stopped at Tracy's and hung out for a bit though it wasn't long enough and picked up Buddy and we headed home. I got home at 12:30 and had to unwind for a bit before i could fall asleep. It was a really nice trip even though it was quick.

Build-a-Bear

We were at the Boise Mall and passed Build-a-bear. I thought what a great thing that it would be for Augie to build one and we could send it to Kelly.

She kissed the heart and made a wish. Then she did a recording for the paw so he could hear her voice and then he as filled with stuffing.

She dressed him in Harely Davidson clothes with a cute bandana like Daddy wears and some cool glasses. He turned out so cute.

And of course he had to be buckled in for the ride home!

Adventures in modge podging...

My name is Suzy and I am a modge podge addict. This was my first ever project using modge podge and now I find myself looking for things to modge podge. I modge podged the clipboard I did for my kitchen, I modge podged a wall plaque I did for Augie and I am even comtemplating modge podging all the letters and the star I have done for the walls in my house. I seriously have a problem. Anyone know of a 12-step modge podge program????

This is a family book I did for Kelly for Father's Day! It will go postal on Tuesday and hopefully arrive on or a day or 2 before Father's Day! We shall see. I modged podged and sealed it to protect it from the sand and hot conditions over in Iraq. I am sure he will cherish it and take very good care of it. I just want him to know he is so missed and we love him and think of him every day!

It has been a long time coming. I finally got my hair cut and colored. I got a dramatic A-line shaggy bob. I love it and when I sent photos to Kelly thinking he would totally love it he said he didn't like it. Well at least he dosen't have to see it til August so it will be a bit longer by then. Dang men, they just don't understand the ned to feel sassy!

Oh how I need a Brody fix. He is now 4 months old and gets cuter and cuter. I miss him so much. That smile just melts my heart. I love the way he looks at his daddy(my brother). Isn't that the sweetest?

This is when it is really hard to live so far away from family. SIGH!

Our weekend

Friday was spent getting a few things done around the house, I ran some errands and we went over to some friends house for dinner.

Saturday we got up and went to breakfast, ran and looked at a few trucks, went to WalMart for a few last minute things. Then when we got home I spent 4 hours uploading music to Kelly's new MP3 player. Talk about time consuming. I was so tired but I did not want to go to bed Saturday night.

Sunday we had to be at 4:30 am and to the airport no later than 6:30. I have been dreading this day. It went smoothly until poor Augie lost it and cried like she said she wouldn't do. I felt so bad for her and poor Kelly couldn't even look back as he walked away. It was so hard.

Augie and I left the airport and went to breakfast with all our friends that went to the airport with us. Thank god we have them!!!! Then we went to Cabelas and walked around, then to see "Horton Hears a Who" at the movies...it was so cute! Then Augie and I went to Michaels and did some retail therapy and to Target as well. We picked up Quiznos on the way home and while we ate we watched "Nancy Drew" it was cute too. I got Augie to bed and spent the next 2-3 hours chatting with my Tracy and playing on Scrapfreak. I love those gals!!!!

What a week from HELL this has been. We left for CA around 6:30 am. It started off with hitting black ice and totalling my car. Kelly had to drive down and meet us 2 hours south of where we live out in the middle of nowhere. We waited for him in a small town and I mean small. He brought me a car and we went on with our trip to CA arriving at my brothers around 4:15 the next morning. I had been awake 24 hours when we finally got to sleep and only slept for 2 hours cause Augie woke up and it was morning. She didn't realize we had gone to bed 2 hours before. lol

On Friday afternoon after all this happened. Kelly had to take Tuffy in to the vet and have her put to sleep, she was having conjestive heart failure. My poor baby girl! He was a mess and there was nothing I could do to help him. It was really hard to deal with. He barried her in the back yard and so Augie and I are going to make a flower garden where Tuffy is, that will give us something to do after Kelly leaves fro Iraq!

We left CA on Wednesday around 7:30 am to head home. We hit wind half way thru our trip, it was crazy. Then we hit a snow blizzard and had to drive 70 miles in white out conditions in a rental car. I was a mess by the time I got to Jordan Valley which is 45 minutes south of my house thru the Owyhee mountains. I called Kelly and had a total melt down. He drove his service truck to meet us and I followed him home. We got home at 11:30 pm. What a horribly long day!

On a great note we finalized Augie's adoption Thursday March 27, 2008. She is officially ours. Woohoo!!!!!!! We are so excited for her to finally have our last name. I can't wait til Monday when I can go to her school and get everything changed over.

Well, we are in for some big changes. As of April 1 I will be a single Mother. No Kelly and I are ok, but he is going to take a job making double what he makes now but he will be working in Iraq. Ya it's scary, but he will be on a military base working so I am not to worried about that. He will get to come home 2 times to visit and 1 time we will be meeting him in Florida to go to DisneyWorld. We can call him at his job for free. So I am focusing on the good things to stay positive for Augie! We will get to do some things to the house that we have been wanting to do and Augie and I are both excited about that. Painting inside the house, new couches, extending the back patio, putting in hardwood floors....

There are a few things I have thought about that I have never thought about before. We have an old dog that is showing some not so good signs of getting old, I have to deal with that on my own. I don't have any family here in Idaho so I have no emergency contact of my own, that is kinda scary. I have 7 acres to take care of with Augie's help. Changing out filters, taking care of the irrigation, changing the oil in the vehicles...all things I have taken for granted. YIKES!

I should be a really strong woman when we get thru all this! LOL!

It has been a busy, up and down kind of 2 weeks. Kelly has been working out of state. Sunday was my 35th birthday and I got bad news first thing, my favorite Aunt in CA had a stroke. Though she is doing lots better they are running all kinds of tests and something appears to be wrong with her kidney. She has been dealing with diabeties for the last 20 years, so this kidney thing is kind of scary as well. We should know more the beginning of next week.

These are the times I don't like living so far away from my family. I have tried to not let it get to me so much cause I have Augie to think about but I honestly have been really bummed out.
Please keep my Aunt in your prayers! Thank you!!!!

So DH tells me that if I can really make a go of this Scentsy business then I can quit my job at the pizza place. So I woke up this morning thinking of the things I can do...

I thought I might bounce it off some of you and see what your thoughts were. The hard thing is that in the same social circle I have a friend selling the same product and that makes it really hard. I would never try and infringe on her business so that is why I need to come up with some new things for myself. I have placed catalogs at my work. I sent out a mass email to the people I know and might be interested and DH said I need to maybe send out flyers locally and in town. Got any other ideas?

I have gotten so behind on blogging. Sometimes life takes some busy twists and turns and some things just have to be put to the side.

Things have been really crazy the last couple days.We were up most the night Tuesday night wit Augie vomitting and running a high fever. We thought she was going to have emergency appendectomy surgury but it turned out to be a UTI, Kidney infection and as of just a few hours ago she also has strep throat. Kelly and I had a huge parent wake-up call. It was so scary! I don't know how our parents did it, I really respect everything they did.
Thanks big time Dad and Mom! You are the best!!!!!!!

We had a fun New Year's here at home. Some friends came over and Kelly's youngest boy came out from CA. We had a blast. We spent New Year's day playing Monopoly where Kelly kicked our bums, but we had a good time. Augie started back to school today and I am so looking forward to getting back into a routine.

Another great Christmas

My family had me convinced that they couldn't find me any painted ponies. So Christmas morning I ended up getting one from Kelly and one from Augie. It was so great and such a surprise.

Augie had been wanting a digital camera so we found a cheap one to start with. I can't wait to see what pictures she comes up with and how well this camera holds up.

Kelly got a lot of things but I think he was most excited about the CAT train. We had gotten one for a friends kids and I think he was disappointed to not get one. Well my Mom sure surprised him.

We had the schools Christmas program this last week. We went out and bought this cute dress. I can't believe the difference between last year's performance and this year's performance. They did a fantastic job. I didn't get many good photos indoors during the performance, I am going to have to really work on that.

Well Kelly called me on his way home the other night from a local store in town. The people had seen us in there a couple times and thought we might consider getting a puppy since we have a child. Well our other indoor dog is getting old she is 13 and i think now was a good time to introduce another indoor dog just so our cat isn't so lonely when we lose our old dog.

His name was Rebel, he is 8 months old and he is a Scottish Terrier. So we went and picked him up and he had the longest dirtiest fur and stunk so bad. So we brought him home and cut his fur and gave him a bath. He is much cuter than he was.

We have changed his name to Buddy and our cat hates him as of now. The cat is terrorizing him nightly. It is actually kinda funny cause this is the same cat that is deathly afraid of my parents Daschund Rossko. The cat hides the whole time Rossko is here and now he is being the aggressive one towards Buddy. Buddy doesen't even know what a cat is cause he has never seen one until now. And besides that he isn't aggressive at all. We have heard him bark once and that was while he was in the backyard playing and thought he saw something.

I still can't believe it! I tried out for the Guest Design Team at Scrapfreak and I actually won!

We had to do a layout or project about fears using journaling strips, orange and fabric. This is what I came up with. I absolutely love how this layout turned out and i really impressed my self to thinnk outside the box. Now I feel the pressure of making my next layout even better. Hope I can keep it up.

We had cheer Saturday and I wanted to get a few pictures of all the girls being that the season is almost over. They are doing so great. Misty and I hare having lots of fun but can't wait to have it over. The mothers are the hardest to deal with. The girls are supposed to waer their hair either half up or completely up. The mothers all decided to do their own thing this last Saturday.

We left mid day Friday to head for Reno to spend the weekend with Tracy and Kaitlyn. The weather didn't cooperate so much but we made it through. We got there just before dark which was the plan.

We had a great time and got lots of scrapping and girl time in.

We left Sunday mid-morning and got home just before dark.

Growing up I was into sports and so against cheerleading. Now August wants to be a cheerleader and I was asked to help coach. Before I realized I was saying, "Yes"! What was I thinking???

I can't find my mojo or anything close. This really sucks. I feel like scrapping but just can't make myself get my stuff out.

Let me go a little deeper into this. While I was on vacation my pigmy goat got attacked by our friends dog. The same friends that moved up here and are staying in their trailer behind our house. The dog tore my goats ear off. Just last Tuesday it attacked my goat again and tore her other ear off. She may never hear again. I hope that is not the case. On top of that I am still fighting this dang cold or whatever it is. I am so sick of this.

Please can something good happen?

Is my mojo? With being out of town for what was supposed to be a little over 1 week and having it turn into 2 weeks cause I got sick, I am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I am still fighting a sore throat and a cough. To top it off I got a 2nd degree sunburn at the beginning of the week. This month has really sucked.

The first week of vacation was fun. We spent a lot of time with Grandpa and Grandma. My Father-in-law was totally surprised about his party. We got to spend 3 days at the ocean and play on the beach. Then I spent the whole next week in bed before heading home. This cold has really knocked me for a loop.

I am wanting to scrap but having a hard time finding my mojo. Have you seen it? If so please send it back this way.

This was an easy one for me since I have saved my Great-Grandmother's buttons since I was a young girl. I have wanted to do something special with them and this was my chance.

The journaling reads: My life long love is my Great-Grandmother's buttons. Over the years I have played with them and resorted them many a times. I wanted to do something special to represent her. I needed something to reflect my love for her and the unique woman she was. I remember that she sewed a lot and had the biggest most beautiful garden in her backyard. We spent a lot of time in her kitchen with my Grandma, my Mom and my Brother. What wonderful and special moments we had. I wish I could have had more time with her and gotten to know her better but I am thankful for what time I did get and the memories I do have. She will always hold a special place in my heart and will always be remembered & loved.

We had gone for a ride in the Owyhee Mountains behind our house. This was towards the end of the day on our way home and August could not stay awake. She had the cutiest messiest mouth. She was smiliig the whole time even as she fell asleep. It was too cute.

This was on the 4th of July and someone needed a nap bigtime. She had helped Grandma make home-made ice cream and then she was done for awhile. I felt like this LO needed something else but I think anything more would make it way to busy and/or take away from it.

Kelly and August were playing around with her neckroll pillow and Kelly stuck it in her pants. Of course it all went on from there. These are a few of the snap shots I got oh her . It toally reminds me of Maxine. We laughed until our tummies ached.

My word for 2007

On Scraplove we chose a word to represent our life for the year. I chose Organize as mine. One of the ladies came up with a good idea. Make a 3x5 card and put it somewhere where you will see it all the time to remind you of your focus. Here is what I came up with. **She had also traced the background on her card, why didn't I think of that? Kudos to her!

Altered Door Hang

I got a 3 pack of wood door hangs at the Dollar store. I figured that way if it dosen't look so good it's no big lose. I traced the edge and cut it out then I adhered it to the wood. Then I used sand paper to get rid of the edges that were left. I think it turned out cute and August loves it.

I made this with the intentions of using for Christmas 2006 but I never got around to filling the envelopes. I haven't really decided what to do in the envelopes but I have 11 months to figure it out now. I am thinking of doing a combination of good deads, candy and prezzies. That should be fun.

Elsie Challenge #8-Group 4 Photos

Well I have had this done for over a week but because of the holiday and I had family here I am just now getting around to uploading it. I used photos of Tuffy again, I haven't had any photos printed recently so my choices are low at the moment.
This was a fun one. I don't normally group photos this way so it was definitley outside the box for me. Also this was my first ribbon flower. Tracy had to help me thru it, lol!

This was a LO based off a Sketch Challenge by Amy on Scraplove. I change the top photo to be one photo instead of 2. It was kinda hard to embellish since I didn't want to take away from the pictures and the paper.
